How to become unf*ckwithable

Hey Reader,

There’s a version of you that doesn’t flinch when shit hits the fan.

But most people never get there.

Being unfuckwithable makes you focused. clear, confident, and in control, no matter what’s happening around you.

In today’s issue, we’ll discuss what being unfuckwithable means, and how to get there.

🗯️ Let’s talk about Bruce Lee

On the set of “Enter the Dragon”, a stunt guy thought it’d be funny to pull a real gun on Bruce Lee during a break.

People freaked out, but Bruce didn’t move.

He just looked at the guy and said, “Don’t point a gun at me unless you’re planning to use it.”

His voice was calm, and he didn’t even flinch.

He didn’t panic, he didn’t try to show strength, he didn’t try to dodge or take the gun.

That’s the unfuckwithable energy right there.

Being unshakably certain of who you are, what’s real, and what no longer has power over you.

🧠 Confidence that leaks is always being refilled from the outside

Some people struggle to sustain momentum the minute something goes off the original plan.

Do you?

You may not realize how easily you’ve become attached to being praised or being validated, and your confidence is gradually being refilled from these external factors.

But change happens all the time.

So when life’s curveballs show up, it can feel like one hell of a hard nut to crack.

One comment can throw off your whole day.

Something goes wrong, and you’re struggling to sustain your energy.

You may become defensive and reactive to opinions and challenges.

You’re chilled one minute, and overwhelmed the next minute.

This pattern can gradually rob off on your business decisions, partnership, clients, relationships, community, and more.

Because the source of your confidence is not internally rooted.

And just like that, you’re fuckwithable.

❤️ Confidence that’s deeply rooted doesn’t flinch

A big part of being unfuckwithable is the idea that life’s gonna happen.

People will die, mistakes will happen, you’ll experience failure, you’ll receive haters’ feedback, things won’t always work out, people are not going to like you, people will hurt you, you’ll have bad arguments, politicians are going to do things you don’t agree with, and the list goes on.

But you’ve become internally untouchable to weather any storm.

When your confidence is connected to inner clarity, you become impossible to manipulate, rattle, or thrown off course.

You’re calm under pressure, deeply rooted in purpose, highly disciplined, and completely unshaken by curveballs, opinions, or results that didn’t go as planned.

You’re deeply aware of who you are, and no one and nothing throws you off balance.

You’re not trying to convince people of your values.

You don’t need validation to feel at home with your success.

You don’t feel guilty for saying no.

And just like that, you’re unfuckwithable.

🤲 Mastering deep clarity to become unfuckwithable

You become unfuckwithable by getting so honest with yourself that no one and nothing can use your truth against you.

Here are 5 ways to get started:

  1. Quiet your mind. Breathe. Pause.
  2. Acknowledge the infinite game. Each adversity is a gift. Each mistake or failure is an opportunity to learn. You can’t lose because the game never ends. So whatever happens happens, you simply respond and keep going.
  3. Trust your intuition, trust your training, your experience, your expertise. Stop analyzing and just act instinctively.
  4. Trust your feelings. Know that it’s good to feel fear or anxiety. It shows you are alive. Feel the feelings and then act anyway.
  5. Surrender. What other people think or say about you is none of your business. Let it fall like water off a duck’s back. As you are now, you are good enough.

And just like that, you’re unstoppable.

🎯 So fuckwithable or unfuckwithable?

What part of you still flinches when things go wrong?

What lie have you built your confidence around?

I encourage you to embrace the unfuckwithable mindset.

Be so clear that nothing can shake what you stand for.

And be so rooted that nothing outside of you defines what’s inside of you.

So, before you start your day, take a moment to reflect on the famous Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr:

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference.”

With appreciation,

Huw

Hey Reader, Something came up on this week’s pod that I thought was worth sharing. A fitness influencer posted about how taking three glasses of wine destroyed his sleep and WHOOP, and it took him five days to recover. It sure caused a stir. The people who are sober hit everyone with the “Yeah, drinking is the worst”, and the people who drink were like, "Sober people are the most boring losers in the world". Someone my pod co-host and I respect and align with wrote about this: “This is...

Hey Reader, My co-host shared an interesting observation on this week’s pod. She talked about what she thinks keeps going wrong at the same point in every marathon she has run so far. Four weeks before the recent London marathon, she ran a half-marathon at 140 beats per minute, comfortable and well within herself, picking up pace toward the end. So when race day came, nothing about what happened made any sense to her. Her heart rate hit 160–165 on the start line before she even started...

Hey Reader, I did this run a few weeks ago on a Friday night. It’s called a tour of tens. Six hours of hill repeats in the dark. You do 10 repeats on one hill, drive to another hill, do 10 more, then a third hill for another 10. It’s a workout I learned from a group in Austin years ago. Back then, we’d all do it together, but this time I was alone in the dark. Nobody was watching or keeping track. I was tired, and it felt hard, but I had already committed to the evening. I had a plan. My wife...
